JOB GOAL:
The Main Office Secretary is responsible for providing general clerical/administrative office support and greeting school patroons. Handles daily work pressures, requiring constant concentration to a volume of work that must be completed with a limited period of time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is Pay Grade 06, working 10 Months/203 days/based on 8 hours per day, plus a benefits package. The salary range is $24,376 - $42,353. Note: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD’s salary placement guidelines. FLSA: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree or 60 college hours preferred.
- Spanish Bilingual preferred
- Must have demonstrated competency in standard office administration programs such as Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other microcomputer applications.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and proofreading skills for composing business letters and reports are required.
- Work cooperatively with others. Interpersonal skills; using tack, patience, and courtesy.
- Maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion in all communications.

- Provides administrative support to school staff and provides general clerical support to the main office as directed by the Principal.
- Performs general office duties including but not limited to, answering multi-line phones, messaging systems, making copies, greeting the public, typing, sorting, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepares faculty and student daily bulletin. The Daily bulletin is prepared each day and emailed to “Central” morning along with the Faculty bulletin.
- Facilitates vending drink machine refunds and issues.
- Responsible for issuing Junior parking tags to park in the Junior Parking Lot.
- Responsible for collecting information and distribution for the monthly calendar and Principal letter.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Principal’s designee.
Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone, and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. In addition, this position requires accurately perceiving sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time and be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director. |
