JOB GOAL

  

To develop, instruct, and collect data on students in the areas of education, behavior, and social skills.

  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

 

Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days), plus benefits package. NOTE:  Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience.  FLSA: Exempt.

  

*Funds financing this contract are provided by the federal government.  If these funds are reduced, withdrawn, or cancelled, the contract is null and void.

 

  

TEACHERS SALARY SCHEDULE:

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Current Arkansas certification in SPED k-12.
  3. Evidence of successful experience in working with students at risk. 
  4. Evidence of ability to work well with others. 
  5. Experience in implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training. 
  6. Evidence of strong writing and organizational skills. 
  7. Evidence of ability to implement Individual Education Plans. 
  8. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education. 
  9. Evidence of ability to create and implement individualized behavior plans. 
  10. Experience in teaching students with behavioral needs preferred.

  6. Plans and delivers instruction that is aligned with student's individualized education plan goals and Little Rock School District curriculum maps.
  7. Collects data on students’ progress. 
  8. Meets with classes as assigned. 
  9. Performs other duties as the principal/supervisor may, from time to time, assign.

Additional Requirements:

Supervise paraprofessionals in the Lab class, disaggregate and analyze behavior data, and attend a behavioral safety training program. Works Collaboratively with Mental Health Social Worker, and School Psychologist

 

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
