JOB GOAL:

 

SALARY AND TERMS:

 

Ten (10) month (200 day) contract, plus benefit package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt

      

EVALUATION:

 

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the

Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. 
  2. Must meet Arkansas certification requirements. 
  3. Evidence of successful experience in dealing with students, parents, administrators, and staff in decision making.
  4.  Evidence of knowledge of basic techniques necessary for helping students make adequate educational and career choices.
  5.  Evidence of ability to work with diverse student populations.
  6. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills.
  8. Evidence of strong organizational skills
  9. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

 

  1. Responsible for the overall supervision of the JROTC program
  2. Responsible for planning to ensure all cadets participating in the program are outfitted with uniforms and associated clothing
  3. Serve as the liaison between the school and military entities such as U.S. Army Cadet Command and 6th Brigade
  4. Ensure space allocation for up to 10 percent of the school ‘s population
  5. Ensure books are ordered to conduct classes
  6. Promote a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to learning
  7. Maintains appropriate classroom discipline
  8. Maintains poise and self-control
  9. Establishes high expectations for learners
  10. Promotes active learner participation
  11. Shows evidence of appropriate and positive student- teacher interaction
  12. Monitors access and usage of the internet
  13. Align all instructional materials to Army Regulation 145-2 (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program/Organization, Administration, Operation and Support
  14. Use a variety of instructional techniques

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
