JOB GOAL:
The Driver/Laborer works under close supervision to maintain grounds, equipment, and buildings as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve (12) month contract (245 days), plus benefits package. Salary Schedule: 804 Range 103 ($25,415 – $44,158). NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on education and experience. FLSA: NON-EXEMPT.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Arkansas Driver's License and/or Chauffeur's License.
- Ability to operate a variety of trucks and lightweight equipment.
- Ability to perform minor services and repairs as needed.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Minimum of one year of experience in labor-crew work.
- Ability to perform general laboring tasks as required.
- Must have a clear driving record.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. - Maintains buildings and grounds: Operates trucks and/or tractors; plants, fertilizes, and cuts grass as needed; cuts and removes trees; picks up and removes trash; hauls dirt and fill; repairs asphalt drives.
- Maintains equipment: Checks oil, grease, filters, and equipment; contacts mechanic for major repairs.
- Moves and arranges furniture: Loads and unloads items such as chairs, pianos, tables, stages, etc.
- May assist skilled trades as needed.
- May perform custodial duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
