JOB GOAL:
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Special Programs office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Eleven (11) Month (220 days) contract - Schedule 752 – Range 07 - plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate or bachelor's degree from a college or university is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in standard office administration programs such as Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data processing.
- Minimum of two years experience as an office secretary/data processor preferred.
- Evidence of strong organizational, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of eSchool/Powerschool System preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. - Enters data for K-12 students, reviews and analyzes entries, and provides corrections.
- Completes ADE Cycle reports in a timely manner.
- Assists with District documentation in the district database (eSchool).
- Facilitates professional development training by securing meeting space, copying handouts/materials, and assisting on-site.
- Answers the phone, assists office visitors, and communicates with Special Programs staff regarding urgent issues.
- Processes internal and external records requests; scans, faxes, and send records in a timely manner.
- Promotes a positive atmosphere in the office at all times.
- Offers to assist other clerical staff to ensure office efficiency and performs other duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director. |
